I founded the Wellbeing & Rehab Co. to support you in achieving your desired health goals and improve your overall wellbeing. I am a qualified Physiotherapist, specialising in musculoskeletal and long term conditions, and have a degree in Sports Science with Exercise and Coaching. This has given me a comprehensive knowledge of how to support individuals during their rehabilitation form injuries and illnesses including complex musculoskeletal injury, cancer, long covid and persistent pain. I have extensive experience in Occupational Health, supporting patients to achieve health goal and successfully return to work. I use this toolkit to provide holistic treatment and rehabilitation to support your long-term wellbeing.
I am an experienced Physiotherapist, qualifying in 2000 from Leeds Metropolitan University. Since then, I have worked in Leeds, Manchester and London in a variety of clinical settings in the NHS and private sector. I specialise in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and, over the last 5 years, have specialised in pelvic and women’s health. I also enjoy teaching Pilates and promoting postural, strength and body awareness change. Susie specialises in Antenatal and postnatal Pilates.
I am a qualified Health Psychologist that has worked in the NHS, academic and private practice settings. My role is to support people in making positive health changes, whether that’s tackling smoking, lack of sleep or boosting physical activity. I use a blend of person-centred talking therapies, such as Motivational Interviewing. I will draw from a number of evidence-based approaches to deliver bespoke treatment depending on what is most important and relevant to you.
My role as a counsellor is to listen and to work with you to create a space where you can feel safe to explore thoughts and feelings. I am qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. My experience includes working with anxiety, depression, stress, loss, grief, confidence and self-esteem issues. I am particularly interested in the ways in which challenges and changes in our lives impact on our identity.
As a qualified Health Coach my role is to help you to improve your health and wellbeing by working with you to establish what you want to achieve and how you can make small and gradual steps to work towards these goals.
My approach is to keep it simple, achievable and start small to enable you to make positive changes that last. Whether it is increasing movement, improving nutrition, help with stress or sleep together we can work towards a personal plan that works for you and fits into your busy life.
I am a sports massage therapist and yoga teacher, whose goal is to relieve discomfort – whether that be coming from an injury or medical condition. I use a combination of muscle energy techniques and soft tissue release, involving cooperation and active movement in treatment, sports massage and postural correction with myofascial release. I also offer manual lymphatic drainage. I teach yoga and have worked in social care, so understand the challenges people face when making long-term changes.
I am a Sports Therapist providing sports massage and exercise prescription. I specialise in injury prevention and adopt an evidence based approach to treatment.
I have 16 years’ experience of working in the health and fitness industry and have had the privilege to treat elite and amateur sports people, ‘desk’ and leisure athletes, musicians and performance artists and the physical and occupational niggles of the general public. I have worked in a variety of sporting and clinical settings ranging from the Olympics and World Championships to being pitch side at local clubs, within multi-disciplinary clinic settings to off-road events in the middle of a field or at 3000m altitude.
My background in Sports Psychology also means that I have a unique approach to treatment, understanding the mind and body relationship and how this can influence performance – whether this be athletic or lifestyle.
It was back in 2012 that I first fell in love with yoga. In 2017, I undertook the 200hr Vinyasa YTT training with Andrea Everingham and haven’t looked back. I have trained in Mandala, Rocket, Yin and Tripsichore with The Yoga People. I believe that the relationship we build with ourselves through personal practice gives us far more autonomy over our experiences, moving us into a more empowered mindset.
I am a passionate fitness instructor, with many years of teaching experience across Manchester, focusing mainly on progressing strength and balance through various workout programmes. I believe regular training improves quality of life and overall wellbeing, which can give the confidence and energy to perform well in other parts of our lives. I am currently doing a master’s degree in Exercise and Nutrition Science at University of Chester, to explore the connection between training, health and nutrition, which will give a holistic approach to help clients achieve their fitness and health goals.
