I qualified from Keele University in 2002 and have been in South Manchester ever since. I split my time between working in the NHS & at The Well-being and Rehabilitation Company. In my NHS life I am the clinical lead Physiotherapist in Paediatrics and treat everything from new born babies to 17 year olds. I have worked in private practice for many years and enjoy treating a wide variety of conditions. I have worked with professional and amateur athletes enabling them to return faster, stronger, better. I enjoy meeting patients from all walks of life and have a very hands on, problem solving approach. I love getting to know my patients which best enables me to work with them on a patient centred treatment plan.
When I’m not at work I spend lots of time with my family looking after dogs and doing lots of walking. I love all sports and unfortunately due to my terrible injury record it’s mainly just watching rather than playing these days! Although I will watch and play any sport, I especially enjoy football, rugby & hurling
I am a qualified Health Psychologist that has worked in the NHS, academic and private practice settings. My role is to support people in making positive health changes, whether that’s tackling smoking, lack of sleep or boosting physical activity. I use a blend of person-centred talking therapies, such as Motivational Interviewing. I will draw from a number of evidence-based approaches to deliver bespoke treatment depending on what is most important and relevant to you.
My role as a counsellor is to listen and to work with you to create a space where you can feel safe to explore thoughts and feelings. I am qualified Person-Centred Counsellor and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. My experience includes working with anxiety, depression, stress, loss, grief, confidence and self-esteem issues. I qualified in 2018 with a BSc Physiotherapy degree and currently practice as a fully charted physiotherapist with a keen interest in musculoskeletal and sports injuries.
Since graduating I have worked both in the NHS and privately with a focus on musculoskeletal injuries and in particular injuries to the hip, knee, ankles, and shoulders. I have a history of playing sports, especially football, and currently enjoy a variety of weight and aerobic training.
I have a keen interest in aiding the return to sport and activity through the use of exercise rehabilitation to provide patients with an understanding of current problems and the future prevention of injuries. I currently lead the Lower Limb Rehabilitation group based at the hospital I work in and continuously come up with new ways to challenge and progress patients. In addition to exercise, I use acupuncture to help reduced pain, manage injuries, and enable patients to manage with their daily activities.
My name is Marlynda and I am an HCPC licensed physiotherapist who recently made Manchester my new home after beginning my career in Glasgow. My qualifications include a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from Glasgow Caledonian University and a Bachelor’s in Human Kinetics from the University of Ottawa, Canada- my home town.
My journey into physiotherapy was inspired by my previous participation in both sports as a field athlete in track & field, and music performance as a violinist.
Beyond the professional side of things, I enjoy rock climbing, running, and playing in amateur orchestras.
I have 7 years of experience, starting in a respiratory hospital, before moving on to Manchester City Football Club Academy (U9s to 16s). I’ve worked with both male and female academy players, providing rehabilitation, pitch-side medical cover, and supporting tours across Europe. A highlight was meeting my football idol, Robin Van Persie!
Alongside this, I have been a pitch-side physiotherapist for Didsbury Toc H Rugby Club and now play rugby for the women’s team. Since beginning my own health journey, group PT has become my preferred way to exercise, furthering my knowledge in strength and conditioning while balancing muscle-building and injury prevention.
I enjoy working in MSK because I like working with a variety of clients and adapting my knowledge and sessions to the individual and their goals. In my spare time, I am thoroughly enjoying getting my head in the developing research within women’s health, as well as a good fictional read. I am a sucker for a good drama on TV, but most of all, I love socialising, being outdoors, and having a good dance once in a while!
I am an experienced exercise and nutrition specialist who can’t wait to help others improve their strength and eating habits for a better quality of life. I really enjoy guiding clients towards their health and fitness goals and watching them achieve success through tailored strength training sessions and optimised nutrition. Be it weight loss, muscle gain, enhanced performance or a comprehensive improvement in health, we achieve these objectives through a personalised, carefully designed exercise and nutrition programme. My primary qualifications include an MSc in Exercise and Nutrition Science (Distinction), along with certifications in Boxercise, StrongNation, Nutrition Advisor, Zumba, and Exercise, Movement and Dance Instruction.
I was a drummer in both an indie and a funk band for years. We played at many exciting gigs and even recorded an album! I’m always on the move and love all kinds of sports, including football, tennis, and martial arts. I’m also passionate about dancing and cooking delicious, nutritious meals (I love my healthy cinnamon rolls!). I like to recharge by spending time in nature, and I’m obsessed with soaking up the sun!
I discovered my passion for human anatomy and rehabilitation in 2010. I’ve enjoyed a successful thirteen years treating a range of musculoskeletal disorders in a variety of clinical environments. I am a client goal orientated, patient-focused Sports Therapist. Through the years I have gained both knowledge and confidence to successfully treat people and help them to manage their conditions through manual therapy and exercise plan rehabilitation. I have spent almost two years in the NHS working alongside physiotherapists, running a variety of rehabilitation classes, which has inspired me to continue with personal development therefore enrolling in Bsc physiotherapy in 2024.
